What We Believe

Centric Church affirms the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message

God

There is only one true and living God. He has created everything for His Glory and is therefore worthy of all worship. He has eternally existed in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, Both fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and dying on the cross he provided people forgiveness of sins and salvation by restoring our broken relationship with God. He rose from the dead, ascended into Heaven and one day he is coming back again.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the presence of God in this dying world. He exists to convict the world of sin, to bring people to Christ, guide believers toward Christlikeness, and empower the church to continue the work of Christ’s ministry.

The Bible

The Bible is God’s Word to us, bringing the complete message of Christ. It was written by men, but inspired by God. Because it is inspired by God, it is whole and without any mixture of error. The Bible should be read in context of the culture during its writing, but not negated due to the changes of culture. It is the ultimate source of truth for belief and life.

People

People were created by God to bear his image and to love God and love each other. Sin fractures our relationship with God and distorts our image of God and how we love him and others. All people have sinned.

Sin

Sin is disobedience to God. All people sin, which hinders our relationship with God and others. Because of sin, people are separated from God and must be restored through Christ.

Salvation

Salvation is the restoring of a person to God. It can only be obtain by the shedding of blood. Jesus Christ fulfilled this obligation on the cross once and for all for those who would believe, therefore, anyone who believe the name of Jesus Christ will be saved. This act of love on the cross not a free pass to do whatever one wants, but it frees and empowers us to love God fully and to live for him. Salvation is a relationship with Jesus Christ. It comes by grace through faith. Once a person has a relationship with Jesus that person’s salvation secured in Christ and sealed by the Spirit.

Priesthood of Believers

Through Jesus Christ, every believer are equal and have direct access to God.  All believers have a ministry and a calling that coincide with their spiritual giftings.

End Times

The end of time is in God’s hands, so we should live out our lives with urgency, as a response to what Jesus has finished on the cross, to help others come to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and be prepare for his returning.

The Church

The church exists as Christ followers in community and cooperation being empowered by the Holy Spirit to continue the work of Christ’s ministry. It is both local and universal in nature.
