Centric Church’s mission is to help people fall in love with Jesus Christ and to center their lives around Him. We aim to guide individuals in discovering what it means to be image bearers of Jesus Christ and to inspire them to love others as Jesus has loved us.
At Centric Church, everything we do is driven by our passion to love God and love people. We believe that the local church is more than just a gathering—it's a movement. This new church is one of grace, truth, and transformation that begins where we are and extends far beyond what we've ever imagined. Come as you are and join us at Centric Church as we follow Jesus together. Whether you’re exploring faith or ready to dive deeper, there’s a place for you here in our community.
At Centric Church, we are dedicated to helping people find faith, family, and purpose in Jesus. Our goal is to lead individuals into a transforming relationship with Jesus Christ—guiding them to discover where they belong, grow in their faith, and live out their God-given calling. As we prepare for our New Church launch, everything we do aims to move people from compassion to calling through intentional discipleship and vibrant community life.
Centric Church is a community on mission—loving God, loving people, and multiplying disciples. As a New Church launching soon, Centric exists to be a movement of grace, truth, and transformation. Our mission is to reflect the heart of Jesus by loving God deeply and loving people practically. We make disciples who multiply, raising up believers who live out their faith in everyday life and lead others to do the same. Through the 6 C’s Pathway, we cultivate compassion, connection, community, growth, multiplication, and calling.
Building people, not programs. Our Centric Church is focused on forming disciples through authentic relationships and intentional interactions. From the first welcome to the launch of new leaders, our intentionality helps people take the next step in following Jesus. As a New Church, we create spaces for belonging, spiritual growth, and equipping so that every believer becomes a participant in God’s mission—not just an observer.
To see a multiplying movement of disciples and churches—Christ-centric and sent into the world. Our vision is to see a network of Spirit-empowered disciples who live, love, and lead like Jesus in every sphere of life. We dream of communities, including a new church launching soon, that grow from compassion to calling—where new believers are welcomed, believers mature, and mature disciples are sent out to plant new works and reach new people.

Compassionate Living
We Show We Care. At our new church, we lead with love, offering kindness, presence, and help to those in need—both inside and outside our walls. We begin with compassion. Whether it’s a warm welcome, a listening ear, or a helping hand, we seek to reflect the love of Jesus in real, tangible ways.
Connection with Purpose
We Make New Connections. Our centric approach intentionally builds relationships that reflect the unity and diversity of God’s family. Relationships matter. We create intentional spaces for new friendships to form, where everyone belongs, and no one walks alone.
Consistent Community
We Build Steady Community. We commit to being present, growing in trust, and doing life together beyond just Sunday. Our church isn’t just a Sunday event. We invest in rhythms of life together, through small groups, meals, and shared mission—so that our faith becomes steady and lasting.
Christ-Centered Growth
We Grow to Go Deeper in Our Faith. We anchor ourselves in God's Word and mature spiritually through discipleship and discipline. As a new church, we are disciples of Jesus, committed to learning and growing. Through Scripture, prayer, and spiritual practice, we go deeper—so our roots in Christ grow stronger.
Commissioned Multiplication
We Multiply by Making Disciples. We are sent to multiply the message and ministry of Jesus—equipping others as we go. We don't just grow for ourselves. We multiply what God is doing in us by investing in others—mentoring, equipping, and reproducing the mission in every generation.
Called and Capable
We Are Empowered to Be Effective. Through the Holy Spirit, we are called, gifted, and empowered to serve God’s mission with excellence and faith. We believe every believer is called and gifted. Through the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to serve, lead, and impact the world around us with boldness and grace.
Tommy and Heather Derrick have been serving in ministry for over 25 years, focusing on children, youth, families, and congregations throughout Texas. They are proud parents of three daughters in their 20s: Hadley, who is serving in a church in East Texas; Caed, who is helping with the church plant; and Raegan, a student at TAMCC. Tommy holds a BA in Religion and Religious Education from Wayland Baptist and a MA in Global Leadership from Dallas Baptist, while Heather has a BA in Education from Wayland as well.
During the summer of 2024, we sensed God stirring our hearts to plant a new church, which will be launching soon. Since that stirring, we have been praying about the where and when, and it became clear that God was sending us to Corpus Christi. You can’t keep a planter from planting! With over 25 years of ministry experience, we have continually thought outside the box, identifying opportunities in the least likely places. Our creativity has been applied in various roles within established churches and new works. It has become increasingly evident that our calling and giftings, along with our educational background, are leading us toward starting a new church. As the world continues to shift, we believe that adopting a missional approach to making disciples is the best way to reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We firmly believe that church planting helps us accomplish this mission.

Caed Derrick grew up in ministry! Over the last couple of years, she has been actively involved in the student ministry at her church and served as a Texas BSM Missionary at Schreiner University, where she discipled college students. With her passion for community, Caed is excited about the launching soon of a New Church that is Centric to serving and empowering the next generation. She holds a BA in Anthropology from Texas Tech.
We are currently in the startup phase of our new church, Centric, which is launching soon. This means we are casting vision and hosting Bible Studies in our home. If you are interested in learning more about Centric Church, please reach out to us. We would love to set up a time to meet you and share more details about our church.
